Happy Seafair { gray.rainy.cold } Friday!

If you're out celebrating Seafair on the lake the weekend, you may run into my dear husband as he thinks/wishes he were a Seafair Pirate, but you won't see me. I love a good party, love the lake...however, I don't love the lake when it's raining and 65 degrees. I feel sorry this year, for the Seafair lovers out there and that the weather is predicted to be similar to an early fall Seattle day. BUT I'm sure ya'll will get out on the water and quickly (with a few beers) get over the weather factor.

My weekend will be spent celebrating the engagement and one-year countdown of Kevin and Kris' wedding

Couple of photoshoots and editing, editing and more editing

I started my weekend a bit early last night and met up with my girl Cheryl for dinner and drinks at Earls in Bellevue. Per usual, we had a wonderful time catching up, but I'm pretty sure we'd both agree that the highlight of the evening was enjoying {two} of the most refreshing cocktails we've ever had - the Blended Mojito - ah.ma.gawd.best.summertime.afterwork.drink.ever. Refreshing and no mint leaves stuck in your teeth afterwords - worth every bit of the $4 each.

Summa Time BBQ

When I realized a couple of weeks ago that we would have multiple friends in town this past weekend, I felt it only necessary to have a BBQ at our house. Megs first stop once she arrived in town, from Oregon, with Ava and Miles was our house and we had a slumber party; Dett, Tara and Jackson came up from LA to spend some time with family and friend; Stacie and Kevin flew out for 11 days from Boston for some much needed Pacific NW bonding. Despite the fact that many of our guests may have needed their passports for the journey south to our house, they still did it - and we had a blast. Sunday was my definition of the perfect summer day - cathing up with friends, sun/warm air, grillin' outside, lemonade, beers, ladder ball, kiddos running around laughing. And this morning, Steve and I awoke to Ava climging into bed with us - love her. Don't let these photos deceive you, I promise I'm not running a daycare out of my house.

This was not a girls/kids BBQ only, I just somehow didn't get any photos of the guys. I guess I need to work on capturing more photos of adults

Downtown { Seattle } Sailing Series

DSC_1047

Last night I participated in my very first Elliott Bay Downtown Sailing Series and could not have requested better weather than what we had out on the Sound. I guess most sailors would have wished for better winds, but I was perfectly content sitting on the bow of this 47' Moody sailboat (apparently, there are only three on the west coast and they're all at Elliott Bay Marina) taking in the views. The smell of Puget Sound was I scent I missed for years, but last night it was in full effect. I've decided that this scent plus a BBQ is a perfect combination. I had a great time with Steve, our friends Lil, Kelly, Amy and Peter (it's his dads boat aka Captain Andy). Steve, as well as my friends Kris and Diggy, take part in Duck Dodge every Tuesday and then attempt to take in as many of the Sailing Series events as possible and I just don't get how they do it - it's a lot of work for a weeknight.
