On the Road Again

Last night, Steve and I spent the evening enjoying Willie Nelson at the Marymoor Park in Redmond. Neither of us had ever been to a concert there before so it was fun to experience something new. We loved it! Thanks to my boss, we received free tickets in the 10th row. Granted I don't know a ton of Willie Nelson songs, my favorite performance was Always on My Mind. Watching him perform, it's hard to believe that this American music icon is 75 years old! However, I have to admit that once we walked up to the front section (that earlier had been blocked off) with a bunch of rowdy/stoned fans, his age was quite obvious. This man has been through quite a bit in his lifetime and is still able to sing and play his guitar (which I think may be older than he is) to a sold out crowd. It was an awesome evening and I look forward to attending future concerts at Marymoor. The next show I would like to see there is on Sunday, Sept. 7 featuring G Love and Special Sauce, The John Butler Trio and Tristan Prettyman.

Farewell Sleasman's

Last night we had a girls get-together (apps and wine involved of course) at PH1 to bid farewell to our dear friend Laura. The newly married Sleasman's, are moving to Palo Alto this weekend because of an awesome work/school opportunity that came up for Justin at Stanford University. I know this couple will thrive in NorCal, but those of us in Seattle will miss them dearly. Congratulations you two on this new adventure! Laura, please keep us posted on all of the new friends you make, but remember, no replacements for any of us girls.

A Few of My "Babies"

Considering a number of various circumstances, I do not have my own children yet, but I absolutely adore my friends children and love to spoil them whenever I see them. I think about each of these babies often and love them each so much. I look forward to the day that Steve and I have our own children, but for the time being these babies will do just fine. In addition to the babies that are already in my life, I have quite a few friends that are expecting in the next few months. Namly, the Johnson's (Jenny & Nick) who will be having their little girl in the next week or so.

First, I would like to introduce you to my precious baby Ava, who is not much of a baby anymore. She'll be two in a month! I remember like it was yesterday when Galen called while Jamie and I were our sailing with Steve to tell us that she had been born. We popped a bottle of champagne and toasted the newest Blyth/Grout family member. Oftentimes, I'll call Meghan just to hear Ava say "Hi Coffey - I love you" (said in a very thick baby accent).
Next up, is my adorable little Taylor. I can't stand that she lives so far away, but I get my Taylor fix from the photos Jessica posts on her blog. Taylor will probably end up being a supermodel one day considering how thin and tall she she currently is. She's 'off the charts' (according to her doctors) on the in regards to her height for her age (turned one in April) and barely on the charts for her weight.
Not that any of these babies are any more special to me than the other, but baby Addison Claire (nickname: Addi) has an extra special place in my heart because she was born on my birthday. Definitely the best gift I ever could have received. I like to joke that when I turn 49, Megan and I will be in Vegas celebrating Addi's 21st birthday. Addi is one of the happiest babies I've ever met! Her favorite thing to do is push around a laundry basket like a walker. Next up, is the only little boy of the bunch, Tristan Martin. I wish so badly that he would grow up with the same wonderful British accent that his dad has, but unfortunately, that most likely won't be the case. When I see Tristan I think of a little man - he is very put-together (thanks to his wonderful mommy Lauren) and calm. In the upcoming months, I hope to plan some walking dates with his mom so I can spend more time with him. *Photos taken by Zach Anderson PhotographyAnd the youngest of the group, the second baby Addison (nickname: Addy). I've only been able to meet Addison twice and wish I could spend more time with her. I know it's a perfect excuse to make a trip to Longview. She is absolutely adorable and has amazing parents that I know will raise a wonderful daughter. I look forward to seeing her the next time Matt and Teresa make a trip up to Seattle.

Current Read

Besides for gossip, fashion and work-out mags, I have been horrible reader over the past few months and decided it was time to grab a good book and get right back into it. That is exactly what I did yesterday on the dreariest Sunday we've had in a LONG time. As It poured rain outside, I sat on our comfy couch and read for almost five hours - I loved it! After laundry, working out and cleaning, it was the prefect way to spend my Sunday afternoon
The book I chose is called The Pirates Daughter by Margaret Cezair-Thompson (no, I did not choose this book due to my fiance's fascination with Pirates, I'm one of those people that usually chooses a book based on the cover). Considering, how much time I spent reading yesterday, I am thoroughly enjoying this book and, thus far, would highly recommend it. On Amazon.com, I found better reviews than anything I could ever write.
Besides for just reading and relaxing, I think I was also still recovering from my ten year reunion on Friday night, which turned out to be much more exciting than I had anticipated. It was great to reconnect with people I had not seen since the day we graduated.

I can't believe it's been TEN YEARS!

The past ten years have seriously flown by! In no way would I ever want to truly re-live my high school days, but I think tonight at my ten year reunion there will be some fun stories shared (some of the girls could have 4 or 5 kids - yikes!). As some of you may or may not know, Inglemoor had CRAZY school spirit. I know it's seems pretty nerdy, but we loved dressing up for football games and chanting the Inglemoor cheers. I love that out of all of the girls in the picture, I still keep in touch with five of them and two are even bridesmaids in my wedding party. I made some great friends in high school and was lucky enough to go on to WSU and make more amazing friends. Tonight could be interesting, to say the least, but in a strange way, I am looking forward to it. If all else fails, Megan, Brie and I will hang out with the Redmond High School class of '98 since their reunion is at the same place and the same time - not sure how that works out. Marge -keep an eye out for me!

I've (officially) joined the world of bloggers!

After a couple of months debating on whether or not to start a blog, I have decided to join the the rest of my friends and enter the world of blogging. I spend at least an hour a day (maybe a couple more, depending on my workload) checking out other blogs and have become somewhat addicted to keeping up on the daily happenings of my (errrr) friends. Friends is very loose in this aspect, as some of the blogs I check out (stalk) are from people I have either a) never met or b) not spoken to in years. You may or may not be interested in what I have going on in my life, but perhaps you may learn something new.

According to wiki, a blog provides commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diary A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. Perfect! That's exactly what I'm hoping to do here.

Enjoy!

Periodically, I will post personal photos or photos that I find online that I enjoy. I will start with one of my favorites - my girlfriends and I at our friend Laura's wedding this summer at Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course. This photo makes me smile - I have the best girlfriends in the world!
